Cascading color and brave brush strokes are the foundations of the stunning artwork of Ash Almonte. Her bold and risk taking abstract figures and chandeliers are gaining traction in the art world, as they exude feelings of light and joy. Truly, she is incredible.
Ash began her interest in art at a very young age. Growing up with her father working at a fruit stand, she was heavily influenced by vibrant colors and textures. She used found objects often to create small masterpieces, increasing her desire to create. She went on to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts from McMurry University in Abilene and here career soared shortly after that. Furthermore, she's uses all sorts of mediums such as acrylics, gels, charcoals, and even enamel. As is visible to her audience, Ash Almonte is fueled by the process of creating, rather than the final result of the piece. The dramatic brush strokes, the thick layers of paint, and cut up pieces of textiles join perfectly together to create her abstract expression paintings.
Ash explains how the theory of light has been an ever-prevalent source of her inspiration. Her work is recognizable for its elaborate and expressive chandeliers. Big and bold, these chandeliers seemingly glow within themselves, and are often coupled with flowers or other attributes that make them even more compelling. She also paints figures, sometimes single and sometimes couples, that are colorful and bright. Bold and brilliant mark-makings make her paintings distinct. Her work could even be described as fashionable impressionism, with its classic technique combined with colors and styles from the fashion industry.
Ash is represented in several galleries in the southwest, as well as various private and public collections around the United States.
““It is more about the execution, than the final product. I enjoy the process of making art more than the product. I am inspired by beautiful color, incredible music, outrageous fashion, raw works of art, loud works of art, and even by taking risks,” says Ash. “I am also moved by the process of change, learning of individuals who are doing good things in the world or for our planet, or even hearing about miraculous stories of the past and present. I am moved by life and inspired by every minute of it.”
