Stephanie Paige
Stephanie Paige is a painter based in the foothills of San Diego, California, known for meditative, nature-inspired work in rich, earthy textures and blues. Raised in Michigan in a family of painters, writers, musicians, and craftsmen, she moved to California in 1990, worked as a freelance illustrator, and founded Paige Studio in 1993. Her work has been featured in more than 50 magazines and newspapers, including The New York Times, Dwell, and American Art Collector, and 14 of her ocean-inspired pieces are installed at Sharp Coronado Hospital.
Inspired by Renaissance frescoes, Paige developed a method of sanding, burnishing, and polishing layers of marble plaster on wood panels, and her ocean series is created in thick, textured acrylic on canvas. Since 2008, meditation has shaped her work, from her meditation circles to her landscapes, sunsets, and ocean scenes. Her recent palette adds grays, metallics, and jewel tones to the blues that run through all her work. Studio E Gallery in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, represents Stephanie Paige.
