Portrait of Nancy Reyner

Nancy Reyner

Nancy Reyner is an abstract painter living and working in Santa Fe, New Mexico, known for luminous landscapes that combine paint with gold, silver, and copper leaf and reflective pigments. Originally from Philadelphia, she earned her B.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design and her M.F.A. from Columbia University, and she has been painting professionally for more than 30 years. She is the author of the North Light books "Acrylic Revolution," "Acrylic Innovation," "Acrylic Illuminations," and "Create Perfect Paintings," and she is part of the Golden Artist Educator program. Her work is in public collections including the City of Santa Fe Civic Center, the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner, and the University of New Mexico Hospital.

Reyner's paintings hover between pure abstraction and realistic landscape, drawing on air, water, earth, and light, and on the high-altitude glow of the Southwest. In one signature style, layers of glowing white intensify her color and turn painted forms into radiant gems. Her recent work uses a brighter, bolder palette and lets her hand show even greater expression and abstraction. Studio E Gallery in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, represents Nancy Reyner.
