Lizzy Love
Lizzy Love is a Nashville-based figurative artist known for bold, large-scale paintings of women in acrylic on canvas, along with watercolor and gouache works on paper. Born in Memphis in 1991, she earned a BA in Art from the University of Mississippi in 2014. Her style grew out of sketching figures from magazines; those sketches evolved from intricate, lifelike drawings into more abstract, modernist forms with dynamic compositions. Drawing and collage lay the groundwork for every painting.
Love sets her women among layered patterns, architectural elements, furniture, and interiors, reflecting her fascination with interior design. She creates her work to counter the sexualized portrayal of women in media, celebrating femininity, individuality, community, and respect. Her goal is to uplift women and bring fun and joy to the homes where her paintings live. Her work is in collections including the Hutton Hotel in Nashville, the Omni Hotel in Austin and Children's Hospital of New Orleans, and it has been featured in Rue and Flower magazines. Studio E Gallery in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, represents Lizzy Love.
