Kim Schuessler
Kim Kinard Schuessler is a figurative painter, educator, and philanthropist known for vibrant mixed-media collages that celebrate joy, love, and everyday beauty. She lives between San Juan, Puerto Rico, and New York City, and her work draws on her Southern roots, her travels, and her love of fashion. She earned her B.F.A. from the University of Georgia and studied at Parsons School of Design, in Cortona, Italy, and at the University of Burgundy in Dijon, France. Her work has been featured in InStyle and Better Homes and Gardens and at the Hank Aaron Museum.
Schuessler layers paper, color, and texture gathered on her travels into rich, joyful figurative compositions. Her recent work adds spontaneity, abstract figures, and new color palettes, with butterflies as a recurring symbol of renewal and transformation. She is a board member of Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, serving on the design committee for the National Design Awards, and has served multiple terms on the Georgia Council for the Arts. Studio E Gallery in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, represents Kim Schuessler.
