Holland Berkley
Holland Berkley is a mixed-media artist whose work uses symbols and icons as pictograms of human presence, placing people in urban settings set against nature. Her central idea is that no matter how sophisticated we become, we are still tied to our biological roots, and that anchor keeps us grounded. She is drawn to the tension of opposites: who we once were and who we have become.
Berkley wants her work to be felt as much as seen. She uses whatever each piece calls for, including oil, graphite, acrylic, leaf, sand, etching inks, and other textural materials. Studio E Gallery in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, represents Holland Berkley.
