Emyo
Emyo is the artist name of Emily Ozier, a Tennessee-based painter, educator, and author known for joyful, impressionist paintings of family life, travel, and flowers. Classically trained in realism and the human figure, she studied in Italy with an impressionist master, learning techniques passed down from John Singer Sargent. She holds a degree in Communication and English Literature from Auburn University, and in 2014 she attended Harvard to study the role of the arts in learning. Her work, influenced by her Cuban American heritage, is in private and public collections across the U.S. and in London.
Ozier paints with bold, expressive strokes, drawing on everyday moments with her six children on their land in Tennessee. Her newest series, created to launch with Studio E Gallery, looks down from above at children floating in water. She is the author of "Light and Life: Finding Beauty in Each Day" and has led a creative retreat on Italy's Amalfi Coast. Studio E Gallery in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, represents Emyo.
