Natural textures, soft tones, and flowing organic movement define the abstracted florals of Chattanooga-based artist Vesela Baker. Aimed at inspiring relaxed, positive feelings, Vesela’s uplifting artwork has captured the attention of private and corporate collectors nationwide. 

Working full-time from her Tennessee studio, Vesela is deeply immersed in a creative process that blends intentional control with intuitive instinct. Her signature style frequently swings from nearly realistic to totally abstract, building soft textures that allow her romantic florals to dance across wood panels and paper.

A lifelong creator who studied at the University of Art in Sofia, Bulgaria, Vesela is challenged to remember a time without art. Her parents recall her painting before she could walk. Today, that natural symbiosis with creativity takes tangible form on the canvas.

"My paintings reflect my story; my past or present stories or the ones I create in my dreams."

To capture this constant stream of images, Vesela favors acrylic and watercolor. The fast-drying nature of these mediums challenges her to release control and prevents her from getting stuck. 

"It forces me to see things from a different perspective and breaks my thought process," she notes.
