Vincent Lardieri was born in Florida in 1980. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Studio Art from Florida State University and a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art (with an emphasis in Painting) from Savannah College of Art & Design.
Lardieri’s current works focus on experimentation specifically through the exploration of tactility, color, transparency, translucency, and opacity. The materials used (mainly acrylics) may or may not be manipulated to capture paint’s dimensionality and push its properties. This process is paramount and allows his work to blur the boundaries between two- dimensionality and three-dimensionality. Another point of interest in Lardieri’s oeuvre is the potential to provide a multi- sensory experience and move beyond merely looking at a piece. Once viewers are invited to get close to the artwork, to interact with it, maybe even touch it, they have a different relationship with the piece because anxiety, fear, and the usual disconnectedness is abated, or even eradicated, and their individual experiences flourish.
He was ranked #1 out of the “Ten Best Visual Artists in Palm Beach County” in the New Times Broward-Palm Beach, Thursday, April 28, 2016.
