Rick has always enjoyed pushing creative boundaries. From a young age he was always deeply inspired by the natural world around him, often channeling his creativity into drawing and sketching. Rick quickly grew to love the experimentation that takes place when one taps into their unique abilities.

Growing up with convenient access to a wood shop in his family's basement, Rick began the artist's journey. Later enrolling himself in painting lessons, Rick stayed the course and soon found himself a recipient of a scholarship to the Columbus College of Art and Design. This is where Rick's relationship with glass began, and a whole new world of opportunity blossomed for the young artist.

Perhaps the most significant part of his artistic journey took place during his years after college when he traveled extensively throughout Asia, Australia, the South Pacific and the Caribbean in his quest for inner growth. This chapter inspired Rick's love for nature. To this day he continues to be an avid student of the natural world around him. In awe of what he discovered during his travels, Rick encapsulates these experiences into his glass work.

As Eggert's career blossomed, his unique glass sculptures gained recognition in the art world. His early exhibitions received critical acclaim, and collectors eagerly sought out his distinctive pieces. His works are celebrated for their ability to captivate viewers, evoking a sense of wonder and inviting contemplation of the intricate relationship between form, light and movement.

Through his abstract glass sculptures, Eggert invites us to contemplate the ever-changing nature of existence and the interconnectedness of all things. His art transcends conventional boundaries, blurring the line between reality and imagination. The fluidity and unpredictability of glass as a medium mirror the dynamic and transformative qualities of life itself.
